It really has been a terrible year for aviation. My heart and thoughts go out to the families and loved ones affected by these tragedies. Especially for the loved ones of passengers of flight MH370 who remain clueless about their whereabouts. It’s not good enough and I think these families deserve far more consideration.
Secondly, I recently heard a startling account of why airlines encourage passengers to bend their heads to the seat in front of them. Apparently, it’s a financial decision made by the airlines. They would prefer passengers to break their neck and lose their lives, rather than have to pay out large sums of money in the event passengers sustain serious injuries and survive. Paying out for loss of life is cheaper for them.
The safety directives instructed by airline stewards are therefore not to keep passengers safe in the event of a plane crash. They are solely to protect the airlines, financially. If this is true, I’d love to know. Having children who frequently fly, I would hate to think the airline safety directives aren’t the best form of safety if there is a plane crash. However, due to the mass corruption which occurs worldwide, where finance comes first and life second; I wouldn’t be at all surprised.
If you have watched the Mythbusters, you would probably find out that there’s no better position than the brace position in case air emergency happens. What do you think?
I’d really like to believe it but with the priority on money over human life, I just don’t believe everything I see and hear anymore. It’s not one of those things you’d want to learn the hard way though.:)
